We have an excellent opportunity for a Contract Manager to join a leading, UK based, international quantity surveying and project management consultancy.
Project Description
Construction of a new Phosphate Plant. The work involves 3 days per week in the Main Contractor’s office in Al-Khobar which is situated some 40 mins by car from Bahrain and 3 days per week on the site
This position is a 16 months fixed term role, however further opportunities/projects would be available at the end of the project, in the UK or abroad
.
The position offers excellent benefits on top of the “Tax-Free” salary, including: Accommodation, Car, medical insurance, living expenses, 4 flights to UK per year, 8 weeks holidays per year and 10% bonus at the end of the project.
Duties of the Contract Manager
- Reporting to the Project Director, you would be responsible for the fulfilment of the contractor’s contractual obligations with the employer and to ensure that the contractors’ rights under the contract are upheld.
- You will also be responsible for the drafting all contractual letters on behalf of the contractor, approval of all contractual terms in the change orders and write and agree meeting minutes with the Employers Contract Administrator.
- Liaising with the contractor’s legal department and inform them of any potential contract problems.
Experience required for the ideal Contract manager
- A minimum of 5-10 years experience in contract management/administration or quantity surveying.
- Previous Experience could be gained within a consultancy company or a main contractor
- Solid knowledge and experience in contract management, administration and drafting within the construction industry
- Related qualifications within the construction industry would be an advantage, however not essential
